Bishop Thomas K Gorman Catholic School

391 co-ed students in grades 6-12 (sixty-two seniors in the Class of 2017).  Thirty-three percent are minority.  Thirty-two percent are non-Catholic. The Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic School student body is comprised of various economic, religious, ethnic, social, and educational backgrounds. Open admissions policy for students passing with no major discipline concerns. A Top 50 Catholic High School, 2005-2016; a Blue Ribbon “Excellence in Education” Award Winner 1998 by the U.S. Department of Education; TAPPS 3A Overall State Champions 2001 and 2002; TAPPS 3A Academic State Champions, 1999, 2000, and 2002. Middle School PSIA State Academic Champions 2014.

1. All applicants submit a copy of a recent transcript from the current school year, report cards, and a registration form. (The transcript should include all standardized test scores.)
2. The applicant will fill out an application form.
3. Upon submitting the above documents, the student will be invited to visit Bishop Gorman during a school day (if possible). The student will have the opportunity to visit classes and meet new classmates and teachers.
4. The applicant will have an admissions interview.
5. Bishop Gorman will send, in writing, the admissions decision very shortly after the admissions interview providing all information in the admissions file is complete.
   Students who are accepted to the Bishop Gorman Catholic School will complete the registration with the  applicable registration fee per student. 
6. Students put into a waiting pool will be notified by telephone if a position becomes available. Waiting pool decisions are made using the same criteria usually used for admission. 

Bishop Gorman offers twenty-four Honors classes including nine approved AP courses in English, art, biology, calculus, chemistry, Spanish, world history and statistics (designated with an H, Pre -AP, or AP respectively).  

Co-curricular activities include: Ambassadors Club, Student Ministry, Drama Club, Yearbook, Student Government, Biology Club, Math Club, Peer Ministry, Marching Band, National Honor Society, Visual Arts, Pre-Med Club, Pro-Life Club, Academic Team, Choir, Football, Cross Country, Cheerleading, Basketball, Wrestling, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Swimming, Track and Field, Tennis, and Golf.

100% of Bishop Gorman graduates in the Class of 2016 were accepted to post-secondary academic institutions or career training programs. Recent Gorman alumni are studying at or have graduated from: Columbia, Duke, Boston Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon, University of Pennsylvania, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Princeton, Yale, Sarah Lawrence College, Cornell, Dartmouth, The University of Notre Dame, Wesleyan (CT), Villanova, University of Texas at Austin, Texas A & M University, Trinity, Baylor, the U.S. Air Force Academy, Case-Western Reserve, Florida Tech, Purdue, Creighton, SMU, TCU, University of Michigan, Georgia Tech, Rice, Gonzaga, Millsaps, University of Alabama, St. Louis University, Franciscan University, and many others. Fifty-four students in the class of 2016 received more than $6.7 million in scholarships.
