The Heritage Christian School Academy is a Private School Satellite Program (PSP) designed for those families wishing for an alternative educational environment for their children. The academy provides an environment for learning to take place outside, or in addition to, the regular classroom. The program offers record keeping, support, standardized testing, college counseling, on-campus classes, and cooperative activities such as Athletics, Choir, and Drama. Its purpose is to encourage and support families who seek the benefits a Christian PSP can offer.

Mission Statement

Heritage Christian School’s mission is to provide a challenging program of academic excellence from a Biblical point of view partnering with parents to equip their children with a firm spiritual foundation while impacting the world for Christ.

Accreditation and Membership

Heritage Christian School is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and Discovery Program is affiliated with the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD). Additionally, HCS is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International, the California Scholarship Federation, and the California Interscholastic Federation.

Academic Program

HCS’s course of study covers fourteen years, which is divided into elementary school, grades TK-5; middle school, grades 6-8; and senior high, grades 9-12. The school year consists of two semesters of approximately eighteen weeks each. Students receive two interim grade progress reports and a final grade each semester. In the middle and high schools, students are expected to carry no fewer than seven subjects each semester; senior students may carry no fewer than five subjects each semester. The general education requirements include: English, 40 units; social science, 30 units; Bible studies, 40 units; mathematics, 30 units; science, 20 units; physical education, 20 units; and fine and practical arts, 5 units each. Students have the opportunity to take advanced placement and honors courses in areas of English, mathematics, science, and history. Two hundred and forty (240) total units are required for graduation.

Participation in the Heritage Christian School Academy Program Includes (but is not limited to): 

  • Academic record keeping service including progress reports, report cards, and transcripts
  • State Filing
  • Participation in CIF athletics, choir, band, drama, spring musical, cheer, and other programs at Heritage Christian School (separate fees may apply)
  • Enrichment programs such as Discovery (for students with learning challenges), and an after-school Fine-Arts Academy (separate fees may apply)
  • Planned field trips and activities with the child’s grade level peers at HCS
  • College counseling
  • On-campus classes during school hours including AP and Honors, science with labs, upper level math, performing and visual arts, design, computer and technology, and modern languages
  • Regular testing such as Terra-Nova, Aspire, PSAT, and SAT prep courses
  • Advanced Placement Testing

  • Heritage Academy Diploma and participation in high school graduation activities and ceremony

Admission Requirements
  • Demonstrate proficiency in speaking, writing and understanding English by demonstrating proficiency or advanced on designated English assessment tests. 
    Heritage Christian accepts the TOEFL iBT, ELTiS, and IELTS tests, while also requiring an interview with the International Student Director.
  • Demonstrate an exemplary academic grade point average (transcripts translated into English).
  • Complete and submit an Application for Admission (with all required health / immunization records) and the required registration / application fees.
  • Be committed to Heritage Christian School’s Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Reside with an English speaking parent or guardian. (Note: Heritage Christian School does not provide host homes)
  • Heritage does not admit International students to the senior class unless they are coming from another U.S. school with enough units to be able to graduate.

    HCS’s college counselors provide individual counseling and financial aid/scholarship information for high school students. Counselors also provide
    workshops for parents/students to assist in college planning. Counselors and students utilize Naviance as a College Planning resource in grades 9
