Grace Christian School

School Profile

Grace Christian School was founded in 1996 when a group of Christian leaders in the greater Bennington area recognized the need to launch a Christian school. Classes began in the fall of 1997. The school initially met at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church building in Bennington, and later moved to the Green Mountain Christian Center on Harwood Hill, Bennington. Subsequently, Grace held classes concurrently in both buildings. On October 18, 1999, kindergarten through sixth grade moved in to  a renovated Ramada Inn with plans to add a grade each year.

At present, Grace Christian School serves pre-school through twelfth grade. Grace graduated its first class, comprised of nine students in June of 2005.

Grace Christian School was granted accreditation through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), in 2011, as the culmination of an extensive self-study and evaluation by representatives of the two accrediting bodies.  Grace is committed to implementing the recommendations of these committees and to continually improving our school to benefit the children entrusted to us for an education.

Student Composition

There are over 160 students, ranging from pre-school through twelfth grade, that benefit from an education at Grace. We have students from Vermont’s Bennington County, and nearby New York and Massachusetts, as well as a growing international student population from several countries.
