Gibault Catholic High School

School Profile

Saints Peter and Paul High School, which began in 1946, became Gibault Catholic High School in 1966. Throughout its 40-year history as Gibault Catholic High School, Gibault has been committed to the same vision of Catholic education. Gibault fosters a Christian community in which each student, unique and important, is invited to experience an appreciation for learning and supportive human relationships. Gibault continues to develop self-discipline and Christian leadership in its students by respecting the voice of students and by entrusting to them appropriate responsibilities and challenging opportunities for service.

Gibault’s unique approach to education is due to the vision of its founder, Fr. Edwin Hustedde. When Gibault opened in 1967, Fr. Ed introduced students and parents to flexible modular scheduling, the Learning Center and innovative ways of empowering students to take responsibility for their education. Gibault is Fr. Ed’s legacy, the embodiment of what he thought learning should be and the great promise of what he believed every student could become.
