School Profile

Student Stats

Oneida accepts students in grades 6-12. On average...

•  OBI's enrollment is approximately 275-300 students.

•  50% of our students are from the state of Kentucky, 30% from other states, and 20% from other
   nations.

•  We normally have about 85 middle school students and 200 high school students.

•  Our average class size is 11 students.

•  The ratio of male/female students is about 50% male, 50% female.

•  The average number of students in a graduating class is 52. In the 2014 class, 48 graduates
earned advanced diplomas. Approximately 60% of OBI graduates continue their education after graduating from Oneida.

To accomplish our mission, we minister to our students in four major areas: academics, work, co-curriculars (athletics, clubs and organizations) and worship.

We have approximately 20% international students.  I am amazed how our international students are determined to succeed.  And, they do succeed with time.  Our OBI school staff and faculty support the efforts of our international students and are a great encouragement to them.

We are a Christian Boarding School, however it is not necessary for our students to be Christians.  We have a brief time of teaching, testimonies and/or music at Chapel in the middle of the school day and Sundays.   This allows a time of rest and personal spiritual reflection.  All students attend and are expected to listen and be respectful to the Christian messages they will hear. Our website is www.oneidaschool.org.  Our school has four quarters in an academic year.  OBI does not have specific tests that are required for admission.  However, international students succeed much better when they can read well and understand their English textbooks.  We do offer ESL, but our international students are also required to take the same English class as American students.
Students are encouraged to look closely at our website and read the information, also the Parent/Student handbooks on side tab.

Our international students who are applying for 10th grade and up cannot officially compete on a sports team the first year.  We are part of the KHSAA which is a Kentucky athletic agreement. Some of these students will ask to be a sports manager for a sports team the first year.

Admission Requirements

The student activity expenses is the student's money held in their business account and will be given to them as needed for allowances, transportation fees, spending money, etc. It is an estimated amount that will be monitored for the child's needs throughout the school year.

Our school does not offer special scholarships for our international students.  Our fee is intentionally low compared to other boarding schools for the purpose of helping all of our students.
Medical insurance is required and can be purchased after a student receives their student visa, but before they come to OBI campus.
Once the paperwork is complete and if you are accepted, I will send you a letter for your bank with International Wiring Instructions.   After full payment, I will process the I-20 and documents needed to take to the embassy.   It is important to note that our school information is on the 1-20 and this is where you will be expected to attend school. If student visas are denied, refunds are sent back to the family using the same account that it came from, less a reasonable administrative fee.
If you wish to apply to our school, on our website click on the tab on the left called Admissions, then Online Application.

See the tabs on the left of the online application.  See "Resources and Instructions" on the left tab at the top.
